The fact that it is the first study in Turkey in which business characteristics are determined within the scope of circular economy reveals the contribution and original value of this research to the literature.

In the literature, it is seen that different features are mentioned in the studies that try to explain the circular economy. Some studies suggest that the circular economy aims to improve the economy and protect the environment. It states that it is a strategy that aims to reduce pollution (Ma et al., 2014) or to reduce consumption through resource control or resource efficiency (Haas et al., 2015). With the use of circular economy techniques, it is feasible to lessen the adverse consequences that could influence business and manufacturing procedures without endangering enterprise growth and wellbeing. The study's objective in this situation is to identify the business features required for the adoption of the circular economy for reasons of efficiency and sustainability and to offer advice to the companies.
Although the Delphi method has specific steps, researchers have the flexibility to modify some aspects to suit the problem at hand. For instance, the researcher may choose the number of rounds, participants, sampling strategy, questions asked, and analytic method to be employed. The amount of feedback given to participants is also adjustable..
In this study, a two-round Delphi questionnaire was administered. The first round utilized items derived from the literature review, while the second round included new propositions suggested by the participants in addition to these items. The survey group consisted of both academics and industry professionals who specialize in studying environmental issues in businesses.

The research's findings indicate that, aside from 11 things, the experts had obtained complete consensus on 8 other topics. The following are unanimously agreed upon: creating products that make recovery easier, lowering water and energy consumption, lowering emissions, lowering or ceasing the use of hazardous products, top management supporting the circular economy, and collaborating with local governments on environmental issues.
In the research, two-stage Delphi method was used in order to achieve the above-mentioned purpose. First of all, the providers of the circular economy were listed by scanning the literature, and then 46 features to be used in the research were determined in line with the opinions of an academician and two administrators. The questionnaire, which includes 46 features of the circular economy, was filled by 18 experts, thus completing the first round of the Delphi method. In the first round, experts agreed on 38 items, but did not agree on 8 items. In the first round, experts also added 12 new items to the questionnaire as a feature of the circular economy. In the second round, in addition to the 46 features of the circular economy previously determined, there are 12 items determined by the participants. Again, 18 experts participated in the second round Delphi survey, which included 58 features of the circular economy in total. Looking at the results of this survey, it was seen that the participants could not agree on 11 of the 58 items.
In the second Delphi survey, the authors agreed perfectly on eight items: designing products that facilitate recovery, reducing water use, reducing energy use, reducing the environmental impact of operations, reducing emissions, reducing or discontinuing the use of hazardous products, top management supporting the circular economy, Collaboration with local governments on environmental issues. This situation reveals that the 8 items stated are the most important features that enable the implementation of the circular economy, regardless of sector.
The Delphi approach reveals which aspects of the circular economy participants concur on or disagree with. The Delphi approach, however, does not rate among these features. Future research can use techniques like the Analytical Hierarchy Process to establish the relative importance of these qualities. To examine how these traits interact with one another, utilize the DEMATEL approach. The features that have a high level of influence can be identified through this study, and it can be decided which ones to concentrate on first. Focus groups are another method for determining the traits of the circular economy.
